Bridging the Gap Between the Diaspora and Home

Swahili Home was created out of a simple observation: diaspora parents want their children to speak Swahili, but finding reliable, structured lessons is surprisingly difficult. We set out to change that.

For many families living outside East Africa, passing down the Swahili language is a deeply emotional priority. It is the key to speaking with grandparents, understanding cultural nuances, and feeling a sense of belonging to their heritage. Yet, parents often find themselves struggling with informal tutors who lack a proper curriculum, or language apps that are too generic and fail to keep children engaged.

We built Swahili Home to provide the structure of a real school language programme, combined with the warmth and cultural richness of East Africa.
